First Reviews of Fast & Furious 9

Although no critic has reviewed the film yet, the first reactions to the new Fast & Furious 9 have already hit the web and fans seem less than happy. For the record, here is the Fast & Furious 9 synopsis: Following the events of Fast & Furious 8, the crew travels to Japan where Brian reaches out to Dom for help to save Hans' life.

Although these reactions could be positive or negative, I have decided to write my own review that is unbiased but purely positive. Not only that, I have decided to accept no negativity from Twitter.

So if you can handle that type of reader, then please read on. If this was my 10th film of the franchise, I wouldn't be complaining Why? Because I would have been in Furious 9, but Fast & Furious 6 had to get in the way.

What are critics saying?

F9's reviews, which have also gotten pretty bad, have opened up a conversation among fans who aren't exactly enthused about this latest addition to the franchise. "I'm in the middle of this press screening right now and can't stop smiling," one F9 fan wrote on Twitter.

"I honestly don't understand how these critics are saying this is the worst film in the franchise." What do critics say? Well, not all of the F9 reviews are negative. In fact, the film is already getting an A- from CinemaScore and has an audience score of 67 percent on Rotten Tomatoes.

And as with most of the F&F movies, it's a sequel to a movie that didn't exactly leave the fan base behind.

So Furious fans weren't too pleased with the recent trailers. They didn't think much of it, and as expected, the upcoming Fast & Furious 9 trailer didn't make the same impression on them.

As such, it was met with mostly negative reviews from fans. That being said, it didn't stop Furious fans from responding to the trailer on social media. A lot of them responded with a lot of humor, anger, mockery, and a lot of comments of passion.

Let's take a look at the best ones. 'Angry' Fans Will 'Not Let This Film Go' 'Everyone has turned on the fans, it is as simple as that. And honestly, why should I? I have stayed for 8 films, I have continued to support this franchise.'

'Worst trailer I've seen. The ending did not do it for me. I'll still buy tickets though, I will never let this film go.

The hotly anticipated “Fast & Furious 9,” has had an up-and-down history with audiences. The first film in the franchise, Fast Five, opened with $147 million, and though subsequent films averaged $142 million, the fourth installment, Furious 7, was the biggest ever at $353 million.

The Fast and Furious franchise’s ninth installment, however, is a toss-up. Critics have trashed the film with one aggregator, Rotten Tomatoes, scoring the film with just 12% positive reviews, but audiences have been eating it up.

Per CinemaScore, which tends to be wildly inaccurate for films with under 100 audiences, Fast & Furious 9 received a strong B+ grade, despite having about one third fewer audience members than its predecessor.

The $1.2B Franchise Could Become Dead in 2020 It's no secret that the Fast and Furious franchise is one of the biggest box office hits of all time. In 2015 the franchise went from grossing $521 million in America alone to nearly $2 billion.

However, by 2020, the latest Fast and Furious film will be the third film in the franchise to earn less than $1 billion. As Business Insider points out, Vin Diesel's estimated earnings make him the world's highest-paid actor. The actor's estimated net worth is a staggering $230 million. However, now that he'll be making less money in Fast 9, it won't help his earnings.

From Den of Geek: The Fast and the Furious franchise has grown over the years into an action-packed cinematic oasis for those who enjoy quick, fun blockbusters, however over the last couple of years the franchise has found itself entangled in scandal as the saga of the beloved cast has soured considerably.

In an attempt to move away from the troublesome content that had plagued previous installments, The Fate of the Furious opted to completely revamp its iconic characters and settings. The results are strong, but far from perfect, and the film has been met with mixed reviews and a lukewarm critical reception.
