"I honestly don't understand how these critics are saying this is the worst film in the franchise." What do critics say? Well, not all of the F9 reviews are negative. In fact, the film is already getting an A- from CinemaScore and has an audience score of 67 percent on Rotten Tomatoes.

And as with most of the F&F movies, it's a sequel to a movie that didn't exactly leave the fan base behind.

The hotly anticipated “Fast & Furious 9,” has had an up-and-down history with audiences. The first film in the franchise, Fast Five, opened with $147 million, and though subsequent films averaged $142 million, the fourth installment, Furious 7, was the biggest ever at $353 million.

The Fast and Furious franchise’s ninth installment, however, is a toss-up. Critics have trashed the film with one aggregator, Rotten Tomatoes, scoring the film with just 12% positive reviews, but audiences have been eating it up.

Conclusion

From Den of Geek: The Fast and the Furious franchise has grown over the years into an action-packed cinematic oasis for those who enjoy quick, fun blockbusters, however over the last couple of years the franchise has found itself entangled in scandal as the saga of the beloved cast has soured considerably.

In an attempt to move away from the troublesome content that had plagued previous installments, The Fate of the Furious opted to completely revamp its iconic characters and settings. The results are strong, but far from perfect, and the film has been met with mixed reviews and a lukewarm critical reception.
